Made 糯米燒賣. I am not sure where it comes from, probably from China or Taiwan??
This is quite easy to make rather than ordinal Siumai. Serve with soy sauce and mustard.
Another dish is 2 kinds of spring rolls. Stuffed shrimp & Yamato-imo/cheese, tuna and onion.
Those 2 dishes go with beer very much :)
Taro's rate:★★
He had a little since he had late lunch at 3 o'clock.
By the way, he took 1.5 year check-up today. Weighed 11.5 kg and measured at 83.7cm long.
I am very glad that he is growing up healthy without any serious sick and fever.
these rolls look... look just awesome!:D and this yamato-imo is a veggie, right? I wonder will I be able to buy it around here... will see later today:D
ReplyDeleteHi ef.em! Yes, Yamato-imo is one sort of potatoes which has white colour, very sticky and slimy.
ReplyDeleteI just stuffed shred yamato-imo, chopped shrimp and Shiso which is Japanese fresh herb in it. Probably you can use basils instead of Shiso.
No seasoning when roll it. After deep fried, you just put sea salt and freshly ground black pepper on it and serve. You can try it! :)
I must say I'm surprised, but I found yamato-imo in healthy food shop. Is it expensive in Tokyo? 'Cos in Warsaw it costs around 9 euros per one:D well, need to Google-up how to deal with it:D got shrimps, got some rice, basil, some other stuff and I hope there is some tuna in fridge 'cos I don't wanna go to shop again:P
ReplyDeleteAnd for cough I remember my mom used "non-medicine-home-tricks":
1. cut onion into tiny pieces and add sugar. Wait for juice to get out and take 1-2 spoons three times a day.
2. linden tea with natural raspberry juice. Twice a day.
3. (not my moms way, but still can be fun) 50ml of vodka with mashed pepper
k, cross ur fingers:D
Wow! Finally you got the Yamato-imo!! 9 euros! Crazy expensive! In Japan, probably it costs around 300 yen or something. Hope you will make it!
ReplyDeletePlus thanks for telling me the helpful information! I haven't heard "linden tea" before but tomorrow, I'm gonna go to the aroma therapy shop and find it.
Cut onion! In japan, we use radish and honey instead.
Drinking vodka! My throat is gonna burning!?
Thanks anyway!
well, yeah, throat will burn, but according to my friend - this vodka+pepper mix worked for him. worth tryin' in my opinion, although this is the most extreme method amongst all three:D
ReplyDeletek, gonna' look through your posts now - wanna' find something new, 'cos rolls worked just fine:D
Hi ef.em, I got "linden flower tea" and "cranberry juice" not raspberry though.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to find fresh raspberry juice in tokyo!
Don't you think natural cranberry juice will work?
Anyway, before go to bed, I will try it.
... sorry for late response, I went to the seaside for 2 days, and although Gdańsk is a huge city I couldn't find any hot-spot nor catch any wifi connection there. cranberry might work, I think:D and give some to Taro, maybe will help with his heat a lil.
ReplyDeletebtw, is clabber cheese ("white cheese", but not cottage cheese) available in Tokyo? if so, will send u a recipe for typical polish dish: "pierogi z serem":P
You went there for holiday?Though I have no idea how freezing cold there you went, but you must have had a fabulous time. :-)
ReplyDeleteI googled "clabber cheese" and figured out clabber cheese equals to cottage cheese! What's the difference between of two?
Otherwise, is it Feta or Mozzarella or Ricotta?
Perhaps I can get it if you could describe it in detail. :) We can get anything and everything in Tokyo.
"Pierogi z serem" looks like ravioli/dumpling!
LFT the recipe. :)
there is a slim difference between these two... dunno how to explain it though:(
ReplyDeletelook for sth like this then:

and later this week I'll dig for recipe, translate it and send'ya:P
and it ain't cold, spring came of all a sudden:D
going out with my dog, he looks at me with anger in his eyes so i better move:D
cheers.
Humm. This cheese seems to be more solid than cottage cheese. But I think cottage would substitute for it. Thanks, ef!
