CENCI

Cenci is one of traditional sweets in Italy. They eat it for a carnival. When you bite it, the lemon flavour comes out in your mouth. Very beautiful.
We have it for breakfast. Matching with coffee very much.

Cenci Recipe

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
25g sugar
a pinch of salt
150g all purpose flour
1 egg
1 tablespoon Rum liquor
Grated lemon peel (a half)

olive oil for deep frying
powder sugar

Method
Place all ingredients in a large bowl. Knead well until smoothed the surface.
Cover a wrap and Leave it for 10 minutes.
Put flour on the table. Roll out the dough until it is about 2mm thick.
Cut out rhombus shape using a knife.
Heat the oil to 180℃ and deep fry them until golden colour.
Sprinkle powder sugar when eat.

Just deep fried is the best taste,but even it's cool down, still yummy.
